Air2Web Ensures ‘Clean Air’ for SMS Services

SMS Aggregator Rolls out Enhanced Profanity Filters and Compliance Auditing Processes for Standard-Rate and Premium Messaging Services

Focusing solely on messages originating from third-party content providers, Air2Web will roll-out enhanced SMS profanity filters, a URL filtering program and a more robust message auditing process to ensure compliance with standards set forth by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). All services will be free for users of Air2Web’s AirCARE™ Mobile Gateway when available starting August 1, 2010.

Air2Web’s automated profanity filtering service will scan and analyze content contained within the text of a mobile-terminated message and block transmission of offensive messages over the carrier network. In addition to analyzing text-based content, Air2Web will dive deeper into URLs contained within a mobile-terminated message to determine potential links to suspect mobile website content. With its URL filtering, Air2Web will analyze a random sampling of URL links traveling over its SMS delivery network and notify senders of content that is not compliant with MMA and carrier guidelines that their messages have been blocked from the carrier network. Finally, Air2Web will enhance its auditing process of message content to ensure compliance with MMA standards for mobile-terminated SMS messages. This service is in addition to audits conducted at the carrier level.
